About Us

Prude fishing from pontoon boat in the Okanagan

Jim (Prude) Prudhomme moved to Kelowna, after a career in the Canadian Army and the United Nations, to pursue his life long passion - fly fishing. His goal is to share this passion with others.

Prude grew up in Ontario and spent his youth angling for smallmouth bass, pike and pickerel on the lakes of the Ottawa Valley. He has since fished in many interesting locations worldwide, but considers the lakes and rivers of British Columbia to be second to none.

Prude in Colorado guide training Prude has taken the Orvis Endorsed River Guide and Drift Boat Operator courses in Colorado, and has guided for Douglas Lake Ranch and Moose Lake Lodge in British Columbia. He now operates as a Licensed Angling Guide in the Okanagan and Thompson-Nicola regions of BC, specializing in fly fishing excursions to mountain lakes or streams.

As the President of the local fishing club, The Kelowna Lonely Loon Flyfishers' Society, and a member of the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Fly Fishing Federation (BCFFF), Prude is actively involved in efforts to conserve and enhance our precious aquatic resources – the salmon and trout of British Columbia.

Okanagan angling guides
Our other Angling Guides are accomplished anglers who have lived and fished the local lakes and streams for many years. They will ensure that you fish the right spots and use the best fly fishing techniques.

Henley the Grouch

Henley, also known as The Grouch, assists on some of the angling trips. Having grown up in the Big Apple, Henley has a "New York" kind of attitude. If he is not growling at you, something's amiss. Because of this, Henley is rarely allowed to take clients out on his own!
